We have all felt pain in the lower part of our spine. Sometimes they last a few days, and sometimes we are out of service longer than that. Studies show that working on your posture and exercises are the most important things you can be doing to prevent the pain in the lumbar region. By preserving muscle strength, mobility, and posture, you can prevent this pain.
Take a look at few simple exercises that will positively affect your spine:
- Lie down on the stomach, stay in this position for a few seconds and breathe normally
- Lean on your elbows. Stay in this position for a few minutes. Breathe normally.
- Now extend your elbows and rely on your hands. Stay in this position for a few moments, then go back to initial position (lying down). While extending your shoulders, breathe out. It’s important that your hips remain on the mat in a final extended position.
You can perform these exercises several times daily.
Posture correction – Remember that long periods of sitting down are one of the most common causes of pain in the lumbar region. If you sit at work, try to take a little walk every two hours and stretch a bit. Take a little pillow you can put behind your back and ease the sitting process for your spine.
